ANSWER
A Power of Attorney document
authorizes a person (your “attorney”) to make decisions on your behalf in the
event that you cannot make or communicate those decisions yourself. There are
two types of Power of Attorney:
-
Power of Attorney for Personal Care, which
deals with matters concerning your health and welfare; and
-
Continuing Power of Attorney for Property
(sometimes called a “Continuing Power of Attorney for the Management of
Property”), which deals with matters concerning your finances and assets.
